Dell Stylus How to use the stylus for your Dell 7410 General Information The Dell 7410 All-in-One laptop allows the use of a stylus on its touchscreen. Below are some helpful tips on how to use the stylus with your new computer. Getting Started Pairing your Stylus 1. Press and hold the Top button for 3 seconds to enable pairing mode. The Bluetooth-pairing light starts blinking to confirm the pairing mode is enabled. 2. In Windows Search, type Bluetooth. 3. From the list that appears, tap or click Bluetooth and other devices settings. 4. Ensure that the Bluetooth is set to On. 5. From the list of devices, tap or click Dell Active Pen PN579X→ Pair. NOTE: If Dell Active Pen PN579X is not listed, ensure pairing mode is enabled on the pen. 6. Confirm the pairing process on both pen and device. The Bluetooth-pairing light turns solid white for a few seconds to confirm the pairing and then the light turns off. After the pen and a device are paired, they connect automatically when Bluetooth is enabled and they are within the Bluetooth range The Stylus is ergonomically designed to work with your tablet for long periods of time. The user can switch between pen and finger entry without any manual mode switching. The stylus supports features such as palm rejection, hovering, and pressure sensing, which allow for accuracy and ease of use - with no calibration needed. The two buttons are software-configurable for using features such as erasing, highlighting, or performing mouse clicks. You can use the tip of the stylus to draw shapes, select text, turn a page, and write, or sign the documents on your tablet. Update Chrome Browser Updating Your Chrome Browser General Information An out-of-date browser can cause various issues when working within web application. Be sure your browser is up-to-date by follow the steps below. Getting Started Normally updates happen in the background when you close and reopen your computer's browser. But if you haven't closed your browser in a while, you might see a pending update: On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, look at More . If an update is pending, the icon will be colored: Green: An update was released less than 2 days ago. Orange: An update was released about 4 days ago. Red: An update was released at least a week ago. To update Google Chrome: On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click More . Click Update Google Chrome. Important: If you can't find this button, you're on the latest version. Click Relaunch. The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts. Your Incognito windows won't reopen when Chrome restarts. If you'd prefer not to restart right away, click Not now. The next time you restart your browser, the update will be applied.

Getting Started Click the menu button , click Help and select About Firefox. The About Mozilla Firefox window opens. Firefox will check for updates and download them automatically. When the download is complete, click Restart to update Firefox.

How to register your ID Card to use a Konica with Papercut
This process only needs to be completed once per user. Tap your ID card on the card reader pictured below, once you hear a beep you may remove your card. If you do not have an ID card please go to the Welcome Center and they can make an ID card for you. Tap yes on the next screen. Enter your Username (e.g. John.Smith, not your G#) and Password and press Set. If you are entering your credentials correctly and still getting an error message. Please contact the help desk for assistance as your password may be expired and will need to be updated. If successful, you will see the following message. Press Ok The printer should go back to the default screen, Tap your ID on the card reader again to login. You should now see this screen and have access to the copier! *If you do not have your ID but need to access the copier, you can manually enter your Username and password and tap on Log in. Papercut Konica printer install on a Windows computer (West Valley College)
To print to a Konica copier that has Papercut enabled, you have to print to the WV Konica SecurePrint printer on your computer then scan your badge at the copier. See here for info on registering and scanning your badge: https://servicedesk.wvm.edu/support/solutions/articles/17000149840 This article explains how you can get the WV Konica SecurePrint printer on your Windows computer. You must be connected to the school network by wire to install the printer. Right click on the Start button and select Run Type in \\wv-crane in the Run window and press OK In the printer list scroll to the bottom and double click on WV Konica SecurePrint If the printer installed correctly it will be listed as WV Konica SecurePrint when you select a printer. If you see a prompt asking for Administrator credentials, please contact the Help Desk for assistance. You can make a ticket or call the helpdesk at x2696. After you print to the Secure Print queue, you will need to badge in to the printer to release your print job.

To install the printer your computer must have the PaperCut deploy client and be connected to the school network by wire. If you have a district issued Mac, you may already have the client installed. If it is installed, you will see a small printer icon near the top right of your Mac. a. If you do not have the Papercut software you can download it here: https://wv-papercut01:9192/print-deploy/client/macos. You will need to be on the campus network by wire to access the link. If the software is prompting you for administrator credentials please open a ticket with the help desk and the IS department will assist you. 2. Clicking on the printer icon should open the deploy client. a. If you get an error message like in the image below, check that you are connected to the campus network by a wire, and not over WiFi. b. Once you have confirmed you are on a wired connection, click the printer icon and select “Refresh my printers now." c. If the client still doesn’t work after that, please contact IS. Our help desk line can be reached at extension 2696, or you can submit a ticket via your employee portal. 3. If the client is working correctly, you’ll see the sign-in screen like in the image below. Enter your user ID and password and sign in. 4. Once signed in, you should see an entry labelled “WV_Konica_SecurePrint” with a message to the right of it indicating the installation status. Give it 30 seconds to 1 minute for the message to change to “Installed” like in the image below. Once it is installed, you should see WV Konica SecurePrint as an option when you go to print. If not, try restarting the application you’re printing from. After you print to the Secure Print queue, you will need to badge in to the printer to release your print job. How to connect to a shared folder on a Mac
You must be plugged into the school network by wire to access shared folders. 1. In the Finder App on your Mac, choose Go > Connect to Server (or press command + k). 2. Type in the address of the folder you are trying to connect to in the Server Address field. If you do not know the address, please contact the IS helpdesk for assistance. 3. Click Connect. 4. Type in your user name and password. To make it easier to connect to the computer in the future, select “Remember this password in my keychain”. 5. Select the folder you are trying to access then go to File -> Add to Dock. 6. The folder should now show up in your Favorites
